Happy Thanksgiving

Nov. 19-Nov.25, 2007
Happy Thanksgiving! This was the first year that we’ve stayed home for Thanksgiving. We didn’t travel one year when we were in Michigan, but someone invited us over to their house. This year we invited a few families from our ward that live far from their families (the Ohene Opares, the Bollands, the Oliveras, and the Reeds). We did it pot luck style and that worked really well. Carmen and Jorge brought the turkey, Natasha and Emmanuel brought mashed potatoes and bread, Erika and Brian brought ham and bean casserole, and I made cranberry sauce, yams, and a couple of pies. We played the alphabet gratitude game and if was a great way to help people think of specific things that they’re grateful for.
Lately Issac has been using the phrase “I forgot to. . “ to mean “I want to” Like, I forgot to go to McDonald’s or I forgot to eat chocolate chip cookies.
Both Isaac and Levi were really sick early in the week. Isaac was vomiting and had diarrhea and Levi had a high fever and diarrhea. It made for some serious sleepless nights and lots of laundry.
We took the kids to the Beyond Bounce Family Fun Complex on Saturday and we were all pretty devastated because the building was foreclosed—apparently they hadn’t paid their rent on time for awhile or something. We went to another place that was advertised on the door, called the Ruckus room but it definitely wasn’t anywhere as cool as Beyond Bounce. Oh well.
