"C" is for Cookie

Dec.3-Dec.9, 2007
So Isaac’s new thing is “tell me a story” He likes discussing the events of the day in story form—like “momma tell me the story about when Isaac went to school”
Levi is obsessed with football. There are a bunch of kids who play football on our front lawn every Friday afternoon and Levi loves watching them and trying to play with them. I always have to whisk him away but sometimes he gets away from me and almost gets run over. Mostly he loves carrying the football around and trying to throw in to us and then waiting for us to throw it to him.
Levi also discovered baseball this week. He’s such a boy! He loves swinging the bat and trying to hit the ball.
We invited Isaac’s little friend Kyle from school (who actually lives right behind us) to play with us at the park on Monday and Isaac really had a blast playing with Kyle and his big sister Mary. They kept sliding down the pole and pretending to be firemen. Isaac was jumping up and down gleefully watching them slide down the pole. For some reason he gets a really big kick out of that. The boys also played over at Kyle’s house a couple of times this week and Isaac was in heaven playing with all of Kyle’s toys. There’s just something about other’s peoples toys that’s always more exciting.
Isaac was trying to express in Spanish that he was feeling silly and he said, “estoy chistoso!”
We went to a fun barbeque at my friend Amerika’s house on Saturday and the kids had a blast playing in her back yard. Isaac got to practice his Spanish a lot with everyone and he came up with some good sentences like “mama quieres subir arriba para jugar conmigo?” (when he was up in the tree house)
On Sunday we were at a birthday party at my friend Luz’s house (she’s from El Salvador), and Isaac saw the birthday cake and said, “Vamos a comer pastel—turn on the velas!” Very cute bilingual moment.
