Trip to the zoo

Dec. 10-Dec.16, 2007
Levi can now say his first Spanish word. . .globo. Well, when he says it, it sounds more like “bobo” but we catch his drift.
The boys have been playing a lot lately at Kyle’s house and they really love it over there. Levi will pick up Kyle’s baseball bats and assume the stance and wait for someone to pitch a ball to him. He can also actually throw a football a few feet in front of him. Isaac loves climbing up into Kyle’s tree house and mini-castle. They have a few sharing crisises but we been able to work through them by turn taking.
I got the boys Santa hats at Walgreens because I thought that they would be adorable for Christmas pics, but it was so tough to get them to cooperate. Levi kept yanking off his hat and Isaac wouldn’t smile. . .then I found it. . .a kazoo. Yep. It solved all of my picture taking problems. When I played the kazoo both boys lit up and they gave me some cute smiles—well at least long enough to get one good pic. I was pretty pumped.
Isaac really, really, really likes storytelling. He is constantly asking for me to tell him stories about things that just happened or that stick out in his memory like the time he came to see me and Levi at the hospital right after Levi was born. I try to alternate telling the stories between English and Spanish and I think its really good for his language development.
Tonight Isaac went through the whole alphabet telling me the letters and sounds and words that start with those sounds from the Rusty and Rosy videos. I’m amazed at how good his memory is. I guess he has seen them a billizion times though. I did discover the mystery of “likaman”—he’s been trying to say “leprechaun”—that was an amazing breakthrough.
We went to the zoo for playgroup this week and Isaac and Levi loved the otter exhibit and the playground in the middle of the children's section.
