summer time begins early
April 21-27, 2008
Levi’s language is exploding this week. He is saying more and more words and is very communicative.
I went to the airport on Monday to drop off Marti and pick up my mom. We did a little grandma swap and the boys loved the adventure of going to the airport and riding on the shuttle bus and interterminal trains.
Having my mom here this week was amazing. She performed miracles with painting touch up and fixing our stain glass door. She also helped me do a ton of sorting and organizing.
My mom took the boys on long walks to the park several times and that was SO helpful to be able to have time to sort stuff out. I’m trying to purge the house of any extra stuff that we’re just not using or don’t need anymore and just get things ready to move in general. On one of the early morning walks that she took them on, they saw an armadillo and the boys were very pumped.
The big excitement of the week with the boys was our Spanish story time adventure on Friday. We started the morning by visiting my friend Claudia Hartenstine and letting the boys jump on their new trampoline. Isaac and Levi were in kangaroo heaven. They love to bounce. Then both of the boys took turns driving around the backyard with Michael in his little hot wheels truck. I got some great video footage—it really looks funny to see Levi bumping around Claudia’s backyard in a miniature truck. Then we went with Claudia over to Maribel’s house for Spanish storytime. We had a great turn out and the color dance was amazing. We also celebrated Isaac, Luz, and Leo’s birthdays. Maribel had a little nemo fish piñata and the kids loved it. Amerika and Ava came too and after we ate pizza some of us went swimming in Maribel’s pool. It was a bit chilly but Isaac insisted on getting in. Then Luz dared me to jump in the deep end with her so we ended up being the only crazy moms who got completely soaked. What was even more funny is that Luz and I have the exact same swimming suit. Its uncanny how similar our tastes are. We have the same stroller, the same little blue table, and we own many of the same toys. Crazy. She’s like my Latina twin.
